How are you doing today? How’s your relationship with people around you? How do you view your life? Do you give value to every single passing day? Do you give time to celebrate life?
There is a verse in the Bible (James 4:14 of the New Living Translation) that says “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” I would always remind myself of this verse then I will get motivated to stay happy and focus on the things that will allow me to get closer to God. After all, I am just a visitor here on Earth and my permanent residence is with Him in His Kingdom.
Things happen in life – good or bad. It is just a matter of perspective or how we want to view a particular situation. In other words, life is a matter of choice. Personally, I am not the type of person who wants to complicate things in life. It’s either a “yes” or a “no” for me. For others, they have a “maybe” and I respect that. But having only two options always make it easier for me to choose between happy or sad, forgive or stay angry, positive or negative, etc. Obviously, I always want to choose to stay on the positive things in life.
I don’t want to spend my day walking around feeling down and overwhelm myself with things I even do not have control of. Problems? Yes, they do come but, I believe in what the Bible says in John 16:33 of the New International Version “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Hallelujah! That promise alone lets me go on with my day and relax!
I believe that God wants us to enjoy the life He has given us. He even made a command in Philippians 4:4 when He said “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” and “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” in Philippians 4:6 (NIV).
So, go ahead and celebrate life! Again, life is too short. Enjoy it with those people who matter to you and even those who are mere acquaintances. Happiness is best felt when shared with others!
