What kind of seeds do you sow in your life… in your future?
We need to understand that all things that we sow, whether directly or indirectly, we will eventually reap. How do we sow? Sowing is not limited to planting seeds, like what farmers do. During planting season, they will sow seeds and when the harvest season comes, they will harvest.
We sow time when we take an hour or two to listen to a friend who is going through a difficult situation in life. We sow love when we feed those who are hungry. We sow forgiveness when we try to understand those who have wronged us and forgive them. We sow happiness when we make other people happy. And these very seeds will eventually grow into trees, into good things, that we want to also experience ourselves!
Take note, I used the word “trees” because harvest is always greater than the seeds you have planted. Just like in the natural, a mango seed when sown will grow up to become a big Mango tree! It will not remain a Mango seed.
Like the farmers, when they sow, they expect that harvest time will come. The Bible says in Genesis 8:22, “As long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
The things that are happening in our life right now are the direct results of the things that we have done before, decisions that we made, the words that we’ve spoken, the seeds that we’ve sown. They all are coming back to us.
We do not have control of the past anymore but we can do something, right now, if we want our lives changed and live the kind of life God has promised us in John 10:10.
So, what kind of seeds do you sow today? Let’s be careful and wise of our actions and the words that we say. Yes, even our words can affect our future and that of our children. Words are also seeds.
